By becoming a Member of Twende you will be helping our work on a continuing basis by making an annual subscription and you will, in return, be able to play an active role in Twende.
Within Twende’s constitution as an NGO there is provision for anyone to be a Member of Twende by payment of a small annual subscription. Members are entitled to attend and vote at Annual General Meetings (or vote by post or email if unable to attend in person). They may also appoint another person to vote on their behalf by proxy provided that the proxy is also a paid up Member of Twende.
In addition, Members will receive a newsletter three times a year by email, plus the option to receive a hard copy by post. There is a supplementary charge for the posted newsletter to cover the production and mailing costs.
To become a Member please fill in the form below and make the appropriate subscription. The subscription rates are given in Tanzanian Shillings with the equivalent in other major currencies (as at January 2008). If your currency isn’t included, please email us for the appropriate amount.
You will notice that the subscription for Tanzanian residents is substantially less than for people living outside Tanzania. This is not simply a case of ‘favouring the home team’ but to reflect the huge disparity in average income between Tanzanians and most of the rest of the world. The income of 57.8% of the Tanzanian population is less than US $1 per day (Source: UNDP 2007).
