Support Us

Twende is young and small, and our activities are limited by the available funds. Any help you are able to give is most welcome.

Our outgoings are very modest: the General Manager, the Board of Directors and the Officers are all unpaid. Chris Mushi and Evelyn Ernest are paid, but that’s for the work they do in the Twende office, not as officers of the NGO. Our only fulltime employee is Julius Msaki who is a general assistant in the workshop. It follows, therefore, that nearly all our income is spent on our vision - developing and disseminating appropriate technology for the poor of Africa.

You are invited to either make a Single Donation or to become a Member of Twende.

To make a single donation:
We can accept donations by cheque but, regretfully, only in Tanzanian Shillings or GB Pounds (£Sterling). High bank charges and the cost of currency conversion make handling small to moderately sized cheques in other currencies quite uneconomic. For example, it will cost us more to bank a $30 cheque than its face value is worth!

For that reason we suggest donations be made via PayPal which can be in your own currency. It’s easy and secure - much more secure than the questionable postal service to Tanzania.

Press the Donate button below for a secure link to make a donation. Donations can be by credit or debit card, or by a PayPal transfer if you have a PayPal account. PayPal will give us your name, address and email address, but not your credit or debit card numbers.
